Roberto Burle Marx was the greatest Brazilian landscape designer of all times and one of the best in the world in the 20th century. Creator of modern tropical gardens, he revolutionized landscaping by inserting into the gardens species previously unknown to the public. Passionate about plants, he loved to go on expeditions to the Brazilian forests in search of new species - which were then taken to his farm for acclimatization. Many of them ended up being inserted in the more than 3 thousand landscape projects he created in Brazil and in the world. He was also a first-rate artist, and produced hundreds of prints, drawings, sculptures, tapestries, paintings, and even jewelry. In this incredible place, where tropical nature enchants and harmonizes for more than 405 thousand square meters of land, there are more than 3,500 species of native and exotic plants, some of them extinct in nature, in addition to a museum collection with more than 3,000 items.

Fun fact: Did you know that Roberto Burle Marx was one of the greatest landscape designers of the 20th century? His work is remembered for imposing landscape projects of large proportions - such as Flamengo Park, in Rio de Janeiro's South Zone; the Eixo Monumental, in Brasília; and Ibiapuera Park, in São Paulo. The recurrent use of typically Brazilian vegetation redefined the view of the value of native plants and their application in landscaping, one of his legacies.
