Your half-day tour will begin with a drive to part of the vast Tijuca National Forest, renowned as the largest urban forest in the world, a UNESCO Biosphere site and an extraordinary destination for nature and ecotourism enthusiasts. You will go to the base station of one of the most famous landmarks on the planet: Rio de Janeiro's Christ the Redeemer Statue. Here you will start your journey that will take you up Corcovado mountain overlooking the city to visit one the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. Towering on a granite outcropping at 710 m (2,329 ft) over a breathtaking vista, the immense statue stands with arms wide open facing haunting Guanabara Bay, blessing all who visit the Marvelous City. Enjoy 360-degree panoramic views of what many consider to be the most beautiful city in the world.
After the short ride back down Corcovado mountain through the sub-tropical cloud forest, you will meet up again with your transport and head off to the Metropolitan Cathedral of Rio de Janeiro. Designed by Edgar Fonseca in a modern style based on Mayan pyramid architecture, the cathedral's four rectilinear stained glass windows soar 64 m (210 ft) from floor to ceiling. Then, you’ll stop by the famous Sambodrome, where the annual carnival parades are held every year, and then continue on to the most famous soccer stadium in the world: the mighty Maracanã.
