The Copacabana Fort is a military base at the south end of the beach that defines the district of Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro. The base is open to the public and contains the Historical Museum and a coastal defense fort that is the actual Fort Copacabana. In the fort you will be able to have breakfest or lunch in the Confeitaria Colombo, one of the finest and most sophisticated restaurants in the area. Copacabana is one of the oldest neighborhoods of Rio and offers the most beautiful views. Right next to it, there's the Arpoador, which defines the end of Ipanema and we can assure that it is one of the most beautiful sights you'll ever see. Wait to watch the lightshow that the sunset offers, a true carioca experience with a bit of brazillian culture that will make your trip even more special.

Fun fact: Did you know that the name Arpoador comes from a time when the coast of Rio de Janeiro was teeming with whales? The animals were the target of great hunts and the Arpoador Rock played a fundamental role in the process. There are those who defend the thesis that some whale hunters used the rock to throw harpoons at the whales.
